Tommy Stramer

President, Zim Integrated Shipping Services Co.

With 32-years experience in international transportation, Tommy Stramer today serves as the President of Zim North America. Prior to this appointment in October 2004, Mr. Stramer served as the global carrier's vice president of shipping in charge of all the shipping activity. From January 1996 until May 1997, he served as president of Astral Maritime, a joint venture with Ofer Brothers. From 1988 until January 1996, Mr. Stramer served as Zim's general manager of the Europe/Mediterranean lines. Between 1984 and 1986, his proven managerial skills saw him contributing to the carrier's growth as Zim's manager of tankers & bulk carriers, as well as the South-Atlantic line marketing manager. From 1978 to 1984, Mr. Stramer served as the general manager of N.S.L., a joint venture between Zim and Nigerian owners that operated a service between U.S./Canada and West Africa. Prior to this, he served from 1977 to 1978 as Zim's representative in India. Mr. Stramer began his career with Zim in 1974 as an engineer in the carrier's planning & development division.

From 1964 to 1967, Mr. Stramer attended the "Technion" Institute in Haifa, earning a degree as an Electronic Practical Engineer. After graduation, he fulfilled his military obligation in the Israeli Airforce. Following military service, Mr. Stramer returned to the "Technion" Institute, earning a BSc in Industrial Management, while also pursuing a MSc in Operations Research.
